Every player will start out with their very own home, but they will be commonly known as "rooms" on this forum. They will be in an apartment complex of Hinamizawa, and every player that chooses to play the game that is currently running will have their own room.
In your room, there is a kitchen, bathroom, living room, and bedroom. You are allowed to invite other players into your room. However, if your room is not password-protected, otherwise known as locked, this means that other players have an opportunity to sneak into a player's room, and potentially kill/break/steal things!
So, other players can see if other players bought items, however the person who bought the item can hide it from others.
And, rooms can vary depending on the game's theme. For instance, if the game is Danganronpa themed, then this means that the Hotel Mirai will be used for the rooms, and for other themes, different rooms will be used, etc.
